It is an honor to serve Alexandria. With the creativity and ingenuity of our city, I am confident that in the next three years we'll grow even stronger than we are now. Thank you for your support. -- Rob Krupicka
Congratulations to my new colleagues on the city council. Thank you for the opportunity to serve with these dedicated people. I am deeply thankful to my family and many friends who make my service possible. I am especially thankful to my aide, Elizabeth Jones, who keeps me honest and our outstanding city staff who make [...]
An update on the 3rd Grade Social Studies SOL test debate: The Superintendent of schools for Virginia has found a way to keep the SOL social studies test until we can do the thorough review of our entire testing approach for social studies and come up with the new vision that I write about here. Annual check up completed on Friday. I’ve lost 25 pounds. My blood pressure is down (though still higher than it should be). My resting heart rate in the mid 40’s. Nothing like good diet and exercise. If I can do it anybody can…I really loved french fries and chips. With a few exceptions from time [...]
It’s been an honor to serve this community over the last six years. We know there is more work to do and I’m committed to working with you to keep your neighborhood and our city strong.
On Tuesday, May 5th Alexandria Voters will elect the next City Council to serve our great city. I hope that you will consider supporting me once again. I know that we can always improve the way that we work and govern. As a Council member I listen carefully to your ideas and then champion the practical, thoughtful and affordable solutions that reflect our community’s best thinking. I’m focused on the three E's...Economy, Education and the Environment.
Hello, Hello? Join us for Calling for Rob: We need your help to reach out to voters and make sure they vote on May 5th. Starting April 1st, please join us on Monday - Thursday and Saturday mornings to make calls for Rob. Food and beverage provided before and after. RSVP with Marsha Quinn at

The craziness of spring aside, I’m really enjoying watching my
oldest daughter start softball season and my youngest fly around on her bike
(just took off the training wheels a few weeks ago).
The Alexandria Times published its endorsements today, giving Rob not only a thumbs up, but a vote of strong support for his record over the past six years:
Rob Krupicka impresses us as the most centrist and
reasonable voice on the current Council. Krupicka takes a can-do,
problem-solving approach to issues that come before Council; he’s a
person who gets things done. Krupicka’s “day job” as a business
development consultant is also an asset. Krupicka, a six-year Council
veteran, has developed an expertise on a variety of issues,
particularly transportation and education.
We are gratified to see that TheAlexandria Times sees what we do: Rob is a can-do problem-solver with deep experience and expertise, a combination that Alexandria needs in tough economic times.
Clear Thinking on Business Issues
Written by Administrator
Rob has been blogging about several issues related to Alexandria's small businesses this week. Check out his latest post about how our city entices companies to locate here with its sound strategy of keeping taxes relatively low -- Alexandria's property tax rate for businesses is 15 to 20 percent less than that of Arlington or Fairfax — and continually working to improve our schools and quality of life so that businesses have any easier time recruiting employees. In another post, Rob provides a synopsis of points he raised in the business debate on April 2 and describes the work he has led and supported over the past several years:
An effort three years ago to review the city's small business policies, he writes, has led to "simplified business procedures, a new code administration
office and one-stop processing center, the work in old town to take the
best possible advantage of National Harbor tourists (the trolley, new
signs, new marketing efforts), the passing of the Landmark and Braddock
plans, a new transportation master plan that includes a Potomac Yard
metro, new efforts to streamline and simplify signage for businesses
and much more. We’ve had a busy three years and there is a lot more to
do."
