First elected to the City Council of Alexandria in May of 2003, Rob Krupicka has focused on policies and actions to make his city a great place to live, work, and raise a family. In addition, he leads and participates in several state-wide, regional and city commissions to improve the lives of Virginians. Rob is presently a Vice President for Corporate Development for Revolution Health Group LLC (www.RevolutionHealth.com). Having worked for both start-up companies and established media companies, he has 15 years of experience in online media, marketing and business development. Rob worked at America Online where he oversaw AOL’s financial services-related business strategy and partnership activities. Earlier, Rob created one of the first online banking web sites. He has worked with a number of non-profit and national companies to help them develop their technology-related business and product strategies.
Rob is involved in several local and state-wide initiatives. He chairs Virginia's Safe Routes to School Program, chairs Gov. Kaine's school readiness committee, serves on Gov. Kaine's working group on preschool access, and was part of the Washington Metropolitan Area Council of Government's green building task force. He also serves on the board of the Campagna Center, a non-profit organization that runs Head Start and afterschool programs in Alexandria, VA.
Rob was recently honored by the Virginia Jaycees as an Outstanding Young Virginian and has also received the Elizabeth Campagna Community Service Award.
Rob is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a major in economics and a minor in history.
He is also a graduate of the Virginia Natural Resources Leadership Institute, a yearlong fellowship program that brings together business, political and environmental leaders throughout the state to encourage cooperative problem-solving.
Rob has earned a number of certificates in mediation, ranging from workforce to commercial mediation, from the Northern Virginia Mediation Center. While not licensed to practice at the moment, he has medidated cases in Virginia's General District Court.
A resident of the Del Ray community, Krupicka twice served as its citizens' association president. He and his wife, Lisa, have two daughters, two cats ("Chesa" and "Peake") and a dog ("Bay").
