Your Homework
Rob always seems to come home with homework. From the first time I met Rob at the Old Town Safeway he has been doggedly focused on developing a deeper understanding of good public policy. While that makes for an unusual first date, it is also one of things I love about my husband. There are nights where the lights burn downstairs long after everyone has gone to bed when Rob pours over hundreds of pages just so he can show up to an Alexandria City Council meeting or a State Board of Education meeting ready to contribute in a way that most aren’t.
I know that Rob cares about this community; it’s the place where we have raised our children, and he wants to make it a better place for them to grow up. That’s why he spends so much time learning about the issues that matter most to the people who live here. That’s why I’m now asking you to take just an hour of your time tomorrow and make sure that Rob gets to keep working for us in the General Assembly. You can vote at the Cora Kelly Rec Center (25 W Reed Ave in Alexandria) from 10:00am to 5:00pm.
When we found out that the 45th House of Delegates District seat was going to become vacant, I looked at Rob and told him that he had to run. I wish that we could keep him at home all the time, but the hateful bills coming out of Richmond demand action. I have never known Rob to sit on the sidelines when there is something he can do to help, and this race is no different.
From the most basic rights of women, minorities, and the LGBT community, to a quality education for our children, there are issues on which we cannot remain silent. I hope you will join me in voting for the man who I have watched dedicate countless hours to making this community the great place that it is.
Rob is a great husband, a great father, and I know that he will be a great Delegate. I hope you will join me in voting for him tomorrow. That's your homework.
Sincerely,
Lisa Guernsey Krupicka
